Tompkins County records are divided among the Sheriff's Civil/Records Division, the County and local courts, the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, New York State DOCCS, and the New York State Sex Offender Registry. Why We Built This Site

New York provides several public and subject-only record channels, but no single Tompkins County search holds every part of a criminal matter. The Sheriff's Civil/Records Division releases TCSO reports and offers a narrow local check. Tompkins County Court holds felony files, while Ithaca City Court and the town and village courts keep their own dockets. DCJS provides fingerprint-based Record Review to the person named in the record rather than a public name-search portal.

Custody and supervision add more sources. Tompkins County Jail maintains booking and local custody information. New York State DOCCS provides its Incarcerated Lookup for state custody and some public supervision data. The New York State Sex Offender Registry is a separate DCJS system.
